Want
to take celebrations to a new level? Play some of these free party
games at the baby showers you host! For many folks, the interaction and
fun provided by activities like these free party games is what they
love most at baby showers. Well, they say such activities are a close
second to having punch, anyway! At these events, playing creates
involvement and energy like nothing else can.
Check out the ideas listed here. Your best bet is to cook up original activities. Try to combine and adapt some of these free party games and find new twists of your own. Your baby showers will be that much more exciting!
Great advice for mommy
This one's excellent for laughs! Try this free party game at baby
showers. Give everyone a card (3 x 5 size). Ask them each to think up
one question that's related to babies. Could be, for example, 'What
will you do when baby doesn't stop crying - and guests have arrived?'
Have them write it down on one side of the card. Once everyone's done,
take the cards back.
This is
where the fun in such free party games begins! Shuffle all the cards.
Then hand them out to guests in no particular order. Get them to write
down the answer to their original question on reverse of the card. Take
all the cards back. Now read out the question on each card - and the
answer on the reverse! Excellent for belly laughs at baby showers!
Explosions at showers?
If
you like noise, try free party games like this one. Write down baby
names on small slips of paper. Include mom-to-be's favorite name as
well. Partially inflate each balloon and put a slip of paper (with a
name) into each one. Then fully inflate them. Now the guests have to
find the balloon containing mommy's favorite name.
Only way to
do it is to explode the balloons! To play this free party game, each
guest has to explode a balloon by sitting on it. She's allowed to sit
on only one balloon at a time. At baby showers, have a small prize for
the winner who finds mommy's favorite name.
Tray with a twist
This one's a variation on other more common free party games. Here's
how you play it at baby showers. Place about 10 to 15 different baby
items (bottle, rattle, pacifier, etc) on a tray. Take the tray around
and show it to each guest. Don't tell them anything specific. After
everyone's seen it, mom-to-be takes the tray and walks out of the room.
Everyone will assume that they have to write down a list of what was on
the tray. But you'll ask them questions - about mom-to-be, NOT the
tray!! Things like, 'What color dress was she wearing?', 'What shade is
her lipstick?', 'What kind of shoes?' etc, etc.
Of strings and moms:
Here's another of those free party games that are a little different
from what people expect. Ask everyone to choose a length of string from
a ball you take around. They'll assume it is for measuring expectant
mommy's stomach. And they'll select the length accordingly. Now tell
them that they have to slowly wrap the string around their little
finger while talking about themselves and how they know mom-to-be! Neat
one to play at baby showers where many guests don't know each other.
Fill in the blanks for laughs:
Want
more laugh-generating free party games? Here's one. Prior to the baby
showers, write down a short story of an incident in mom-to-be's life.
Like how she met her husband, or a trip someplace, etc. Next, remove
important words, names, verbs, etc. In their place, put in numbers. At
the shower, call out each number and ask the guests to choose a name,
verb, etc that the number stands for. Complete the story with their
choices. And read it out aloud! This is totally hilarious! Try it and
see.
