Secrets of spectacular baby shower decorationsBaby shower decorations are an area where you can truly let your creativity run riot! There are plenty of great ways to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere, pamper the expectant mother, while jelling with your party themes (if you have one). I'm listing a select few here - try to think up at least one or two of your own baby shower decorations as well. This is what makes your party themes really come alive! Using balloons artfully is one of the simplest, yet most impactful ways to create a mood. Incorporate several 'color spots' around the room while doing your baby shower decorations. You can do this by tying a bunch of helium filled balloons to an anchor like a cuddly bear, booties, etc. Use an odd number of balloons for maximum effect. Let them float about 7 feet or more high, to keep them above eye level. If your party themes require it, choose the balloon colors accordingly. Balloons always look exciting - at come a very low price! If there are large gifts like strollers, cribs, etc, tie balloons to them to enhance the look and feel. When creating baby shower decorations, use blue and pink colors, if the sex of the baby is not known. Of course, you're by no means restricted to these two colors for your party themes. Another place to use balloons as baby shower decorations is for the guest of honor's chair. Tie them in bunches to the chair. Also tie satin bows, streamers, ribbons, etc to the chair to create a seat that's really special. She can use it - and feel like royalty - while she opens presents. Have a special place for the gifts, as part of your baby shower decorations. For example, use a table with a big bunch of balloons tied to it, or a large, colorful umbrella over it. Use streamers and ribbons liberally. Bunch around 15-20 streamers together at one end, in three or more colors. Usually pastels for baby shower decorations, unless your party themes call for other colors. Fix them to the ceiling, maybe over the food table or other focal point. Then twist each streamer and attach them to the walls about 6 to 7 feet height, equally spaced. That's a simple, yet very effective way to create a festive atmosphere. Use confetti shaped like baby items, or those saying 'It's a boy' or 'It's a girl' and sprinkle it on the tables as baby shower decorations. If the event is before birth and the sex of the baby is not known, use both. Again, if you use party themes, you should be able to get confetti that matches it.
